On February 7, 2019, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand graciously led a royal procession to the "Old Police Station, Sapphaya District" in Chai Nat Province. On this occasion, she presided over the unveiling ceremony of the exhibition "Sapphaya Historical Remembrance," which showcased the history of the establishment of the old police station in Sapphaya District. The building was constructed in 1901 during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) and is now 118 years old. It is a single-story wooden structure with a gabled roof, resembling European-style residential houses. The building features carved wooden decorations, including the popular "ginger bread" motif from the era of King Chulalongkorn and King Vajiravudh.

The police station has been refurbished and improved through collaboration between the National Police and the local community of Sapphaya Old Market from 2015 to 2018. The goal was to create a learning center for the community and tourists. The project received an Outstanding Architectural Conservation Award in the Building category from the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage in 2018. The building now serves as a model for intersectional dormitories and canal-side lodgings.
