What is Sapphaya model ?

The community Based tourism destination of the Sapphaya, Chai Nat province is managed by the Saphaya Old Market Restoration club, with the Sapphaya Sub-district Municipality as the supporting and promoting organization for development. The management approach involves innovation, collaborative processes, or what is known as the "Sapphaya Model," consisting of four components: strong and dedicated leadership, organization staff ready to learn and committed to their work, a community with love, unity, and a readiness to develop, and expert consultants assisting in knowledge creation and joint development. It is evident that none of these components can be omitted.

Furthermore, through the collaborative management of the Sapphaya Old Market Restoration Association and the Sapphaya Sub-district Municipality, there has been cooperation in developing a tourism development plan, enhancing personnel, leading the community and the public to have efficient knowledge in community-based tourism management. Training includes roles and responsibilities, evaluation skills, problem-solving in community tourism management, sustainable tourism development principles, emphasizing the importance of youth and meaningful media communication. The community participates in decision-making and takes action in management through community forums, searching for the community's identity or DNA, expressing opinions, and training on the lifestyle of the community in the past.
